Actually started on this one last summer. Turned into a bigger project than planned so it's been sitting since then in the driveway. Time to get back on it and I'm sharing it this time. Rear end was redone last year, new posi unit, axles, bearings and seals. Snowballed from there. I'll make up a whole write-up for the main site on this when it's done, or done enough.

So for those of you that were wondering what was under the car cover in the driveway all winter, here it is.

The body had a pretty good rust problem, you know large holes and someone thought they would fix it by using spray foam. After getting all the crap out we started the work of replacing the rust with new sheet metal. Then disused the large plastic licence plate pocket. Threw it out and welded in a small metal box. Then we thought we would tuck the front bumper in a little bit. Turned into cutting it down to make it shorter as it was then way to wide. Removed the ac and all the weather stripping and then come the problem we have now. BODYWORK.

It's back in the shop and staying now till I get the bodywork done and some paint threw on it. The 305 that's currently in it i'm sure will be leaving as soon as this is done. Only time will tell how far this one is going to go. With all that here is a few pictures.

Here's that bumper, just finished getting all the chrome sanded off. It's going to be body color.

Guess if I'm going to show this one I should show it all. So here are the pictures getting up to this point. I just grabbed some of them so everyone can see the progress up to where it was left in the driveway.

Spent the day putting weather stripping, door handles, headlights, etc back on. Got the new wheels on and got it out in the sunlight. Still got plenty more to go. Front bumper needs finished, bed needs sprayed with bed liner as well as doing the wheel wells. Didn't get the most updated pictures, will have to wait till we get it back out again next weekend.

Bedliner done, and got the chrome cleaned up and back on. Still need to get the front bumper and mirrors painted, but that's about the last of it.

Trying to get the rest of the parts painted and ready to put on this weekend. Body should be finished with any luck. Spent this morning sanding and smoothing the front bumper out. Looking pretty good, hopefully this was the last coat of primer I need to put on. Final sanding tomorrow and it should be ready for some paint. Paint the front bumper and the mirrors we got new. Then this weekend spray some bedliner in the wheel wells and put the bumper and mirrors on.

Here's a pic of the front bumper with freshly sprayed primer. It's been narrowed to fit the car.
